9 to 5 is now available on DVD, in a Sexist, Egotistical, Lying Hypocritical Bigot Edition. Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda, and Lily Tomlin recorded commentary together for this edition. I can’t remember seeing this film, but it is still considered one of the best “get your boss back” films – behind Office Space, maybe.

Crimes of the Heart is a chick-flick, telling the story of three sisters reunited after one of them shoots her husband. It stars three brilliant actresses: Diane Keaton, Sissy Spacek, and Jessica Lange. This 1986 film is based on the play of the same name by Beth Henley, who also adapted it for the movie. It inspired the song “Gigantic” by the Pixies.

I know most people think that Rocky IV was really cheesy, but I’ve always liked it. It had a great soundtrack and a patriotic theme, and those great training in the snow scenes in Siberia. What I didn’t know is that the original ending to the film had Rocky being killed during the fight with Drago. But then we couldn’t have had Rocky V and last year’s Rocky Balboa.

It really is amazing and quite sad how some people live, and a lot of us are not even wise to what is going on out there. The newly released book ‘Underbelly: The Palm Beach No One Talks About’ explores different situations people are in that live in Palm Beach and it is really horrific what people go through. I just cannot believe that so much pain and agony there is in the world that we never see or hear about, and a lot of it is caused by drug and alcohol abuse.
Drugs and alcohol can really ruin people’s lives to such an extreme extent and it is something that is so often ignored. You always see celebrities that go to rehab and it looks glamorous, but that is the rich people rehab and they usually only go for a short time, and from what it looks like they never really get cured.
It is not uncommon for people to go into long term drug rehab to permanently rid themselves of their addictions. It is staggering the amount of people that really need this kind of help, and even more so the amount of people that do not even realize that they need to be in rehab. So many people roam around in denial in their drug induced haze and it takes loved ones to show them how they are hurting themselves along with the people that love and care about them.
If someone that you care about is headed or already down this path it is never too late to seek help to get them rehabilitated.

In The Secret of My Success, Michael J. Fox breaks out of his Marty McFly and Alex P. Keaton roles. He plays a brilliant young executive who can’t get a job and is forced to work in the mailroom. He also passes himself off as the new executive brain, trying to do both jobs while wooing Helen Slater and avoiding the advances of his (not related by blood) Aunt Vera. It had a great soundtrack, too.
