Short Circuit was one of my favorite movies growing up. Ally Sheedy, Steve Guttenberg, and the robot Number 5: “Number 5 is alive!” Steve Guttenberg is a robot inventor whose robot comes to life when struck by lightning. Number 5 does not want to be used as a weapon, and Guttenberg helps him escape from the company he worked for.
