The Secret of Nimh was the first film that animator Don Bluth directed. He is the director behind the hits Land Before Time and An American Tail which are much more well-known. Nimh is a good animated film in its own right, though, and it was adapted from the Newbery Medal winning book called Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of Nimh by Robert C. O’Brien.
